In the Issyk-Kul region, more than 700 thousand trout larvae have been produced

The Department of Fisheries has successfully completed a stage in the artificial reproduction of Issyk-Kul trout. According to information provided by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, out of 812 thousand eggs laid in incubation devices, 747 thousand larvae were obtained.

The survival rate was 92%, which fish farming experts consider an impressive achievement. Despite natural losses of 8%, the young trout is showing positive dynamics and has already been transferred to specialized feed.

At the same time, the Regional Acclimatization Department is working on breeding another valuable species — the Baikal omul. There are 2.5 million eggs of this species in the incubators. According to specialists, the hatching process for omul larvae will take about 82 days and should be completed by the beginning of March.

These activities are aimed at restoring the population of valuable fish species and developing the fisheries sector of the country.
