The goal of this project is to update the equipment, improve performance, and extend the lifespan of the hydropower plant.
It is expected that the implementation of these measures will significantly enhance the efficiency and reliability of the station. As a result of the project, the following indicators will be achieved:
- an increase in installed capacity from 7.6 to 10 MW;
- an increase in annual electricity generation from 37.2 million to 53.5 million kWh;
- improved reliability of the hydropower plant.

As noted by the company, the Lebedinovskaya HPP is one of the oldest operating hydropower plants in the Chui region. Construction began in May 1942, during the fierce fighting of World War II.
The construction process took just one year and two weeks. As a result, by 1943, the city of Frunze (now Bishkek) received the necessary electricity, which allowed the evacuated factories that supported the front to start operating.
