In Kyrgyzstan, 5.6 billion cubic meters of water have been supplied and 2.8 million hectares of land have been irrigated in 11 months of 2025, - Ministry of Agriculture

From January to November 2025, 5 billion 596 million cubic meters of water were supplied for irrigation in Kyrgyzstan, allowing for the cultivation of 2 million 838 thousand hectares of agricultural land. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.

The Ministry specifies that irrigation water was provided to both agricultural enterprises and private landowners. As a result, 404 legal entities and 77,143 private landowners benefited from the water supply.

During the reporting period, 550.1 kilometers of irrigation canals and 593 hydraulic structures were also constructed. These include 174 water measurement posts, 91 pumping stations, and 156 pumping units. Furthermore, 179.5 kilometers of collector-drainage systems were cleaned and restored, and 19 pumping units were replaced.

Additionally, since 2014, 796 settlements have gained access to clean drinking water. As of the end of November 2025, work continues in 601 villages. Of these, projects have already been completed in 123 settlements, construction is still ongoing in 121, project documentation is being prepared in 74, and necessary documents are being gathered for 283 villages.
