- In 2026, as part of the agricultural census, expanded questions will be asked regarding the breed of domestic animals, fish farms, as well as the processing of agricultural products and summer cottage plots. This was announced on the air by Baktybek Orozbaev, a leading specialist in the Department of Statistical Censuses and Geoinformation Systems of the National Statistics Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.

He noted that the questionnaires will include a section dedicated to documents confirming the breed of animals.

“There is a question about the availability of certificates confirming the breed. If such documents are absent, it will be indicated that the breed is not confirmed. Otherwise, a corresponding mark will be made,” he explained.

Data on fish farms will also be included in the census. The specialist clarified that information about the area of water bodies and their usage will be collected.

“We have information about the congestion of water bodies and their sizes. It will also be indicated for which types of fish they are used, for example, rainbow trout or white amur,” Orozbaev added.

In addition, the questionnaires will contain information about the presence of mini-workshops for processing agricultural products and storage capacities.

“We will take into account the presence of mini-workshops for processing agricultural products, as well as homemade storage capacities, including refrigeration equipment,” he emphasized.

A separate form is intended for personal subsidiary farms and includes more questions. Another form has been developed specifically for summer cottage plots.

As the specialist noted, this is related to the fact that many citizens live permanently at their summer cottages and engage in agriculture in the vicinity of large cities.

“Many people live on summer cottage plots and keep livestock and poultry. Therefore, we decided to create a separate form for summer cottage plots,” he noted.

He added that not all summer cottage owners live there permanently, so a general form will be filled out by the chairperson of the summer cottage cooperative. Then, census takers will conduct a survey among those who live permanently on summer cottage plots.

“We will separately survey those who reside permanently at the cottage, taking into account the number of livestock and the availability of land plots,” Orozbaev concluded.
