- Deputy Jumabek Salymbekov spoke about the proposal from Coca-Cola to install free refrigerators in restaurants, but with the condition that no other beverages should be present in them. This statement was made during a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Finance, Budget, Entrepreneurship, and Competition Development, which took place on March 9.

He spoke after Deputy Minister of Economy Benazir Nurlanova presented a draft law concerning competition.

Salymbekov addressed the Deputy Minister and the Chairman of the Antimonopoly Regulation Service, Aibek Mamyraliyev. According to him, Coca-Cola is actively offering restaurants the installation of their refrigerators for selling their products, but on the condition that domestic producers' products will not be represented at these points.

“I would rather not talk about this, but I decided to openly voice this problem,” he noted.

Additionally, the deputy mentioned a case where a Kazakh company engaged in the sale of bottled water tried to persuade local establishments to sell only their products by offering to install refrigerators and pay money, but the restaurant owners refused this proposal.

Currently, a draft law "On Competition," initiated by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, is also being discussed and will be submitted for the first reading.
