Kirill Dmitriev stated that Russia's influence is increasing due to expensive oil

In his Telegram channel, Dmitriev emphasized that in the context of high oil prices, "Russia's voice on the global economic and geopolitical stage is becoming more noticeable." He also expressed the opinion that the current crisis circumstances highlight Russia's role as a key supplier, on which economic stability depends.

The sharp price surge, reaching 20% in a day in early March, is directly linked to the escalation of the situation in the Middle East. The main cause of market turmoil was the effective cessation of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz—a strategically important route through which about 20% of global oil supplies pass. Traders are factoring in the risks associated with attacks on the region's energy infrastructure and the threat of a long-term fuel shortage.

Against the backdrop of military actions and mutual threats from Iran, Israel, and the USA, the price of Brent crude has already exceeded $111 per barrel. Analysts warn that if the conflict drags on and affects the production capacities of neighboring countries such as Kuwait, the UAE, or Saudi Arabia, prices may continue to rise, creating conditions for a global energy crisis.
