The Eurasian Economic Commission clarified that the changes pertain to elevators with electric control that provide a cabin speed of more than 2 m/s and are classified under code 8428 10 200 1 of the EAEU Customs Nomenclature.
The EEC's statement indicated that the proposed changes from Russia are aimed at supporting and developing enterprises engaged in elevator manufacturing within the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as enhancing their competitiveness.

In the 11 months of 2025, the import of elevators from China to the EAEU countries amounted to $246 million under HS code 842810.
