Violations were recorded among several producers

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic has proposed an initiative to introduce liability for non-compliance in the production of halal products and the provision of halal services.

According to information provided by the ministry, the law "On the Halal Industry" defines the requirements for halal products, including their production, certification, and labeling. The proposed bill aims to establish liability for the release of halal products and the provision of halal services without the appropriate certificates, as well as for non-compliance by certification bodies during conformity assessment procedures.

In addition, work is currently underway to improve the halal certification system, including through the digitization of the certificate issuance process and the implementation of more transparent and effective control procedures for production and labeling.

These measures are aimed at protecting consumer rights and strengthening trust in halal products in the Kyrgyz Republic.

It was previously reported that violations were identified among some producers, including the presence of pork DNA in the products. The issues were resolved after reviewing production processes and conducting repeated laboratory tests.
