In Kyrgyzstan, it is planned to introduce fines for non-compliance with the requirements established by the law "On the Halal Industry in the Kyrgyz Republic." This was reported by Sultan Akhmatov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce, at a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with finance, budget, entrepreneurship, and competition development.

According to Akhmatov, the halal industry law implies responsibility for violating its norms in accordance with the Code of Offenses of the Kyrgyz Republic.

However, it is worth noting that the relevant amendments have not yet been made to the Code itself. The draft law proposes to add an article concerning "Violations of the requirements of the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of the halal industry."

This article stipulates fines: for individuals, the amount will be 7,500 soms, and for legal entities — 23,000 soms for the release of halal products and halal services without the necessary documents confirming their compliance.

In addition, for violations in the process of confirming the compliance of halal products and halal services, it is proposed to fine legal entities in the amount of 13,000 soms. The consideration of cases of offenses under this article will be carried out by the authorized body in the field of health.

The Deputy Minister also noted that there have been cases in Kyrgyzstan where companies obtained certificates for halal products with violations. "The law clearly defines the accreditation procedure. We have encountered situations where products were labeled as halal but actually contained pork. This happened with the company 'Rikha,' which incorrectly passed accreditation. The license was revoked," the Deputy Minister added.

As a result of the discussion, the committee members supported the draft law in the first reading.
