
At the meeting of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Local Self-Government, and the Regulations of the Jogorku Kenesh, held today, the draft law "On State Awards, Honorary Titles, and State Prizes of the Kyrgyz Republic" was reviewed and approved in the first reading, taking into account the comments and suggestions of the deputies.
The initiator of this draft law was the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The Deputy Minister of Justice, Kuban Kazakov, reported that within the framework of the draft law, it is planned to reduce the number of state awards from 46 to 20. In particular, it is proposed to exclude from the system such awards as the orders "Danaker" and "Erdik" of three degrees, the honorary title "People's Poet of the Kyrgyz Republic," as well as the Honorary Diploma of the Kyrgyz Republic and second-category titles "Honored." The establishment of the Honorary Diploma and the titles "Honored" will be transferred to the level of the Cabinet of Ministers.
