- In accordance with updates to the Tax Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, entrepreneurs in the jewelry sector have received a number of tax concessions. This was reported by the press service of the State Tax Service (STS).

Changes were made by the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts in the Field of Taxation, Social Insurance, and Non-Tax Revenues," which was adopted on December 31, 2025.

According to the announcement, the exemption from value-added tax applies to equipment, technologies, reagents, and semi-finished products intended for jewelry production and imported into the country.

Additionally, the Tax Service noted that the new law provides for the legalization of stocks of jewelry made from precious metals that were imported or produced earlier, within a period of two months. During this period, a moratorium on inspections conducted by tax authorities is introduced.

The law also delegates domestic jewelry manufacturers the right to test and hallmark their products with their own stamps confirming the quality, except for the state hallmark, on a voluntary basis.

The changes also affected the Code of the Kyrgyz Republic on Offenses, introducing liability for activities with jewelry without special registration. The fine for individuals will be 5000 soms, and for legal entities – 13,000 soms.

The STS emphasized that these measures are aimed at supporting the jewelry industry, reducing production costs, increasing its competitiveness, accelerating production modernization, and creating conditions for the implementation of modern technologies and the production of jewelry that meets international standards.

Background

Previously, on July 31, 2025, a law was adopted that established a single tax rate for manufacturers and sellers of jewelry at 0.25%, while earlier rates ranged from 2% to 4%.
