Sadyr Japarov, the president of the Kyrgyz Republic, has approved amendments to the Law "On the Regulations of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic," as reported by the press service of the head of state.
These changes were approved by the deputies on December 24, 2025, and are aimed at improving the functioning of the parliament.
Among the innovations is the creation of the post of first deputy speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh. A limit is also introduced on the number of deputies from one faction or group who can represent their interests in parliamentary committees — no more than four people.
Additionally, the law provides for the implementation of a voting system using electronic vote counting, which will ensure identification through fingerprint or facial geometry. This system is expected to start functioning on January 1, 2027.
The introduced changes will come into effect in accordance with established legislation.
