From January 1, 2026, excise tax rates on alcohol will increase in Kyrgyzstan

A phased increase is planned until 2029


Starting January 1, 2026, the increase in excise tax on alcoholic beverages will come into effect, as reported by the State Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic.

This decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic in accordance with the resolution dated December 18, 2025. This resolution provides for a phased increase in excise rates on alcohol until January 1, 2029.

In particular, the excise rate on vodka at the beginning of 2026 will be 200 soms per liter.

The State Tax Service also reminded participants in the alcohol market and taxpayers of the importance of considering these changes when planning their activities and fulfilling tax obligations.
