Since January 1, alcohol has become more expensive in Kyrgyzstan

The State Tax Service has announced an increase in excise rates on alcoholic products in Kyrgyzstan.

According to information published by the STS, the excise tax on alcohol will be raised. This decision is based on a resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic adopted on December 18, 2025.

Starting from January 1, 2026, there will be a phased increase in rates, which will conclude on January 1, 2029.

In particular, the new excise tax rate on vodka will be 200 soms per liter.

It is worth noting that revenues from the sale of alcoholic products remain an important source for the state budget. During the first three quarters of 2025, over four billion soms were collected in the budget from excise taxes, the majority of which came from the sale of strong alcoholic beverages.
