At the People's Kurultai, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, announced that the country intends to complete payments on its external debt by 2035.

He also outlined forecasts for state debt payments in US dollars until 2030:

“After 2030, payments will gradually decrease, and by 2035 we will completely close the state debt that has accumulated over 30 years,” added President Japarov.

He also mentioned earlier that Kyrgyzstan could pay off its external debt in one day if sufficient resources were available. However, such a measure is economically unfeasible due to penalties and interest on current obligations. Payments continue according to the established schedule, and the share of debt in the country's GDP has significantly decreased in recent years.
