At the meeting of the parliament, Burun Amanova, a deputy, proposed the introduction of strict regulations for scooter users. This proposal was voiced during the discussion of the draft law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic on Ensuring Road Safety."

Amanova noted that in a number of European countries and in Melbourne, bans on the use of scooters have already been implemented, and in China, there are restrictions on their operation. "In Kyrgyzstan, we are witnessing cases where scooters knock down pedestrians on sidewalks. Does the Ministry of Internal Affairs plan to introduce strict rules for scooters?" the deputy asked.

In response, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oktobyr Urmambetov reported on the ongoing work to regulate the movement of scooters and mopeds. He added that after changes to the legislation, the city hall will independently register scooters and monitor their use.
