In Kyrgyzstan, the possibility of introducing accountability for violations related to the certification of halal products is being considered.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce reports on the development of a new draft law, which proposes amendments to the Code of Offenses. This document will address the production and certification of halal products.

According to the draft, it is planned to introduce fines for those who produce halal products or provide halal services without the necessary certificates, as well as for certification bodies for violations in the process of inspection and confirmation of compliance.

In addition, the ministry is working on improving the halal certification system, which includes the digitization of the certificate issuance process and the development of more transparent and effective procedures for monitoring production and labeling of products.

These initiatives are aimed at protecting consumer rights and strengthening trust in halal products in the country.

The ministry also noted that previously identified violations, including the detection of pork DNA in some producers, have been addressed through the revision of production processes and repeated laboratory testing.
