- According to information received from the Center for the Development of the Halal Industry under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the company "Rikha" conducted halal certification with an unaccredited certification body.

“Currently, this body has ceased its activities. During subsequent laboratory tests of products from OsOO 'Rikha', conducted by accredited laboratories, no pork DNA was found in the submitted samples,” the Center reports.

Representatives of OsOO 'Rikha' claim that the company currently holds valid halal certificates issued by authorized certification bodies.

According to company employees, all production processes comply with halal standards, and scheduled inspections are carried out in accordance with established norms.

The Center explained that there is currently a review of approaches to certification in the halal industry. As part of this work, changes are being made to the Code of Offenses regarding the fight against fraudulent entrepreneurship and the protection of consumers from fraud in the halal certification sector.

Work is also underway to digitize halal certificates, and the relevant state authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic will continue this activity, as noted by the Center for the Development of the Halal Industry.

In 2024, a new Law "On the Halal Industry" was adopted in the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to this law, products labeled as "Halal," "Muslim," "Adal," etc., must have a certificate of conformity, which must be issued by an accredited body, as stated in the announcement.

Currently, there is only one accredited body for the certification of such products in the Kyrgyz Republic — the Bishkek Center for Certification, Testing, and Metrology, which is part of the Center for Standardization and Metrology under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic.

“Producers of halal products should be aware that some private unaccredited certification bodies operate in the market. Certificates issued by them have no legal force and are invalid according to the Law 'On the Halal Industry in the Kyrgyz Republic,'” comments the Center for the Development of the Halal Industry.

In this regard, the agency recommends contacting only accredited certification bodies.
