At present, irrigation water losses during delivery through the BChK reach 50-55%. The concrete lining of the canal bed will significantly reduce these losses and ensure a full supply of water to irrigated agricultural lands.Furthermore, it is expected that the concrete lining will prevent water filtration into the soil and its spread through underground layers, creating the possibility for the drainage of marshy lands in the lower part of the canal.
“This will create new opportunities for the use of these lands in agricultural production, the development of horticulture, as well as the development of areas for construction and the establishment of new settlements near existing ones,” the statement added.
