In Kyrgyzstan, preparations for spring fieldwork are in full swing, and this year special attention is being paid to ensuring a stable supply of irrigation water. To achieve this goal, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry has initiated the cleaning of canals across the country.
In particular, special equipment is already being used in the Southern hydro-section of the Kara-Suu district in the Osh region. One of the key activities is the deep mechanical cleaning of the "Eshme" distribution canal, which will increase capacity and reduce water losses necessary for irrigating farmers' fields.
Minister Bakyt Töröbaev has set a clear task for the water management organizations: to complete all preventive work as soon as possible. According to his instructions, all irrigation networks in the country must be put in order and ready for operation before the official irrigation season begins.
To prevent issues with the distribution of water resources that arose last year during peak vegetation periods, monitoring of the condition of hydraulic structures is being carried out in an intensified mode.
