- In the Chon-Alai district, in the Kok-Suu valley, licenses for coal mining have been issued to several deposits, as stated by deputy Janar Akaev at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on February 5.

According to Akaev, local residents express dissatisfaction with the work of coal mining companies.

The deputy noted that the population is unhappy because, in their opinion, the companies engaged in coal mining do not benefit the local economy and budget.

In light of the issues that have arisen, the deputy proposed that OJSC "Kyrgyzkomur" form a commission to analyze the operations of coal companies in the Kok-Suu valley, as well as to check the legality and validity of the issued licenses.
