The EU urged Kyrgyzstan to tighten control over the re-export of goods to Russia

David O'Sullivan noted that Brussels is concerned about the significant increase in equipment imports to Kyrgyzstan. He emphasized that such purchases could violate existing sanctions on goods with potential military applications.

According to agency data, after the onset of military actions in Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan significantly increased the export of dual-use goods to Russia, contributing to a 9% annual growth in the republic's economy. February statistics from the Financial Times indicate that imports of "priority goods" from the EU to Kyrgyzstan increased by 800%, while exports to Russia rose by 1200%.

At a press conference in Bishkek, O'Sullivan also noted that the EU does not require Kyrgyzstan to support anti-Russian sanctions. "We understand that some states, for various reasons, decide not to support these measures," he added, as reported by Tazabek.
