At the beginning of the meeting, Almaz Baketaev emphasized the significance of Kyrgyz-Chinese relations and noted that cooperation between the two countries is actively developing within the framework of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative.
The Minister highlighted the importance of strengthening financial interaction, pointing out the need to create sustainable financial mechanisms and long-term funding sources for the successful implementation of major infrastructure projects.
During the discussions, the parties considered opportunities for expanding financial cooperation and interaction between financial institutions of Kyrgyzstan and Shaanxi Province.
The Kyrgyz delegation presented a number of initiatives aimed at developing partnerships with the financial institutions of the province, including the establishment of a joint investment fund to support small and medium-sized enterprises, the development of interbank cooperation, the opening of correspondent accounts in national currencies, as well as the development of financial instruments to service cargo transportation along the route China—Kyrgyzstan—Uzbekistan.
The Chinese side proposed discussing the creation of a bilateral financial service mechanism between Shaanxi and Kyrgyzstan, which could include the development of interbank operations, the opening of specialized credit lines, as well as expanding opportunities for trade financing and cross-border settlements.
As a result of the meeting, the mutual desire to continue the development of financial cooperation and strengthen the partnership between the financial institutions of both sides was confirmed.
