Kyrgyzstan and Japan Discussed Support for Small and Medium Enterprises

A meeting took place in Bishkek where Deputy Minister of Economy Benazir Nurlanova met with representatives of Japanese financial institutions and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). According to the Ministry of Economy, the key topics of discussion included state policy on supporting small and medium-sized businesses, mechanisms for financial support for entrepreneurs, and the role of the Kyrgyz Guarantee Fund in ensuring business access to loans.

Kyrgyz representatives also informed participants about the development of the Support and Development Program for Small and Medium Enterprises, planned until 2030, which aims to create better conditions for doing business and simplify access to financial resources.

The Japanese delegation, in turn, shared their experience in credit guarantees, emphasizing their importance for ensuring access to banking resources, especially for start-up entrepreneurs and those without sufficient collateral.

Following the meeting, both sides expressed interest in further cooperation and experience exchange in the area of support for small and medium-sized businesses.
