Ministry of Economy: Kyrgyzstan is ready to defend its rights if Russia and Kazakhstan create trade barriers in the EAEU

At the meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Finance and Entrepreneurship, held on March 2, 2026, deputy Ismanali Joroev raised the issue of barriers to the export of Kyrgyz goods to EAEU countries.

He noted that goods from abroad arrive without significant difficulties, while the export of local products faces serious obstacles.

Joroev also emphasized the long queues of trucks at the border with Kazakhstan.

“When will we be able to transport our goods freely within the EAEU?” he asked.

Deputy Minister of Economy Sultan Akhmatov explained that the delays are caused by internal problems in Russia and Kazakhstan, complicating transit.

“If they continue to violate EAEU rules and create barriers, we are ready to defend our interests. We will prepare all necessary letters and send them to the Eurasian Economic Commission,” Akhmatov assured.

During the meeting, a draft protocol on amendments to the Agreement on Customs Liability of the member states of the customs union dated July 5, 2010 (under approval) was also discussed.

New route to the airport: how the road to "Manas" will change (map)

On January 17, 2026, the Ministry of Transport and Communications announced a project for an alternative road to the international airport "Manas".

A 4-lane road with a length of 17 km is planned to be constructed. The existing route is 25 km from the intersection of Fuchik/Jibek Jolu and 17 km from the bypass road.

The new route is proposed to be laid through the intersection of the Young Guard Boulevard and the Northern Bypass Road, with the design of a two-level interchange, lighting, and landscaping.

As of the end of January, the project was in the research and design stage. From the video presentation of the Ministry of Transport, it became known that there are two route options - through the "Bishkek Free Economic Zone" or a more southern direction, near the residential areas of Ozyornoye and Muras-Ordo.

The new road will reduce travel time for residents of the eastern regions of the country (Issyk-Kul, Naryn, and other areas).

Tazabek prepared a map of the proposed route based on information from the Ministry of Transport. The actual route may differ from the presented data.

Revised tariffs of the Ministry of Construction for multi-story and private houses

The Antimonopoly Regulation Service under the Ministry of Economy has made changes to the approved price list for the services of the State Architecture and Construction Control Department.

Order No. 16 was signed on March 3, 2026, based on a request from the department dated February 27.

The document revises the prices for services related to the inclusion of capital construction facilities in the registry and accompanying construction. For example:

— for multi-story buildings over 9 floors, the cost decreased from 177.39 to 130 soms per 1 m²;

— for individual residential houses, the cost decreased from 92.51 to 80 soms per 1 m².

The unit of measurement for energy and communication facilities has also been adjusted from "p/m" to "100 p/m".

The responsibility for the accuracy of the data presented is assigned to the head of the State Architecture and Construction Control Department. The price list is expected to be approved and published in the official languages.

The price list comes into effect upon approval.

The Bishkek Mayor's Office conducted a raid to control meat prices

The municipal inspection under the mayor's office conducted raids at the markets of the capital to prevent unjustified price increases for essential goods.

According to the mayor's office, it was found that meat is purchased from suppliers at 650–700 soms per kilogram, while the retail price reaches 800–850 soms.

This price increase indicates the presence of excess intermediaries and insufficient control over pricing.

“Regulation exists, but the price should not exceed 700 soms,” representatives of the inspection noted.

During the raid, it was found that intermediaries buy meat for 700 soms, sell it for 730–740 soms, and then the retail price increases to 780–800 soms.

Thus, the markup can reach up to 100–150 soms per kilogram, which causes dissatisfaction among the population.

“It is unacceptable for resellers to create an artificial price increase,” emphasized the municipality.
