In 2026, it is planned to replace 75.5 km of outdated aluminum wires with a voltage of 10/0.4 kV with modern self-supporting insulated wires (SIP) in the Issyk-Kul region.

The work on updating the electrical networks will cover the following settlements and districts:

* 8.6 km in the city of Karakol

* 19.7 km in the city of Cholpon-Ata

* 5.6 km in the city of Balykchy

* 20 km in the Ton district

* 6 km in the Ak-Suu district

* 5.5 km in the Jeti-Oguz district

* 7.7 km in the Tyup district.

As part of this project, 1100 old wooden poles will also be replaced with concrete ones. The work is expected to start in March 2026 and be completed by November.

Additionally, in 2026, the construction of new 27.1 km of power lines using SIP is planned, as well as the installation of 588 concrete poles. Currently, 11 km of SIP lines have already been laid, and 167 concrete poles have been installed.

It should be emphasized that in 2025, 90 km of SIP lines were laid in the Issyk-Kul region, and 1300 old wooden poles were replaced with new concrete ones. Most of these poles were installed in the 1960s-1970s and have long exceeded their service life, being in an emergency state.

The advantages of self-supporting insulated wires include their high resistance to snowfall, precipitation, and strong winds. Moreover, they significantly reduce the likelihood of emergency outages related to contact between wires and tree branches.
