As it became known, on January 25, district inspectors noticed a man, who had previously had legal troubles, while patrolling the "Yunost" microdistrict. He was intoxicated. According to the police, his behavior exhibited aggression; he looked unkempt and caused discomfort to those around him.
After his detention, he was taken to the station, where an administrative protocol was drawn up for being in a public place while intoxicated. He was then released and handed over to his relatives. However, it seems he did not forgive the police for this detention and returned with gasoline to take revenge. He set fire to two participant vehicles — a Chevrolet Cobalt and a Changan, which were parked near the building. As a result, both vehicles sustained serious damage, and the damage was assessed as significant.
The suspect was soon apprehended and placed in a temporary detention facility. According to police information, the man admitted his guilt. A criminal case has now been initiated, and the question of his arrest is being considered. Interest in the case increased after a video of the suspect's interrogation appeared on anonymous Telegram channels. The police have not disclosed who was the source of the leaked recording. The investigation is ongoing, and a legal assessment of the arsonist's actions will be provided at the conclusion of the investigation.
