On February 16, a meeting was held at the State Agency for Public Service and Local Self-Government dedicated to the report on the project "Scholarship Program for Human Resource Development" (JDS).

Present at the meeting were the Director of the Agency Elchibek Zhantayev, who heads the managing committee for the implementation of JDS in Kyrgyzstan, as well as the Ambassador of Japan to the Kyrgyz Republic, Hiroshi Hirano.

The main goal of the event was to discuss feedback from professors of the target universities on the results of interviews with candidates for the JDS program.

The professors provided their assessments of the candidates who advanced to the second round of the program.

Zhantayev noted that the JDS project receives close attention from government bodies. He emphasized that the scholarship recipients studying in Japan receive high-quality education and make a significant contribution to the development of Kyrgyzstan.

In addition, he pointed out the importance of strictly adhering to the principles of transparency and competitive selection of candidates for the program.

The director also discussed the possibility of expanding the project, emphasizing the provision of more opportunities for civil servants and municipal employees from the regions. He noted that improving the qualifications of personnel in these areas contributes to enhancing the overall quality of public administration.

Ambassador Hiroshi Hirano thanked the participants for their contributions and noted that the JDS program is being successfully implemented in Kyrgyzstan. According to him, many of its graduates today hold high positions, including heads of departments and deputy ministers.
