In Bishkek and Chui Region, a Quran Recitation Contest Against Extremism Will Be Held

From February 10 to 11, a Quran recitation contest titled "Youth Against Extremism" will take place in Bishkek and the Chui region. The initiators of this event are the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan and the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the capital, as reported in the press release from the muftiate.

As the organizers note, the main objective of the contest is to prevent extremist sentiments among the youth, promote patriotism, and popularize Islamic knowledge. The event aims to increase interest in the holy Quran and adherence to the rules of Tajweed.

The opening of the competition is scheduled for February 10 at 10:00, and the results and award ceremony for the winners will take place on February 11.

Registration for participants will be available until 12:00 on February 9. Young people aged up to 25 can participate. Participants must be dressed in a white kalpak and a white shirt.

It should be noted that reciters who have previously placed in the top two positions (first and second) in republican or international competitions are not eligible to participate, unless they are moving to a higher category.

The contest will be held at: Bishkek, Gogol Street, 55, at the central mosque named after Kimsanbay Azhy.
