As reported by the Russian Embassy in Bishkek, it was on this day 100 years ago that the presidium of the XII All-Russian Central Executive Committee made the decision to transform the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region into the Kyrgyz Autonomous SSR, which became part of the RSFSR as a subject of the federation.

With this transformation, not only did the area of the Kyrgyz ASSR increase, but so did its population.

The establishment of the Kyrgyz ASSR had a decisive impact on the fate of the Kyrgyz people. Within a unified state space with Russia, the foundations for the socio-economic and cultural development of the republic were laid. Despite difficult historical conditions, significant successes were achieved in these areas.

Industry, transport, and communications began to develop in the republic, agriculture was equipped with technology and new organizational methods. The cultural and educational level of the population significantly increased, newspapers and books in the Kyrgyz language began to be published, and the network of educational institutions expanded, as noted in the official statement.
