In Kyzyl-Kiya, there was a decrease in the number of births last year; however, despite the increase in mortality, the city's population still grew. This became known during the 21st session of the Kyzyl-Kiya city council (VIII convocation).

At this session, Zhyrgal Kadyrov, the head of the primary healthcare center, reported on the results of his work and stated that compared to the previous year, the population had increased by 800 people.

However, he also noted that the birth rate had declined, while the number of deaths had increased. City council member Jalalidin Sultanov raised a question about how the population could have increased under such indicators.

According to the data presented at the session, in 2024, 900 children were born in the city, and in 2025, there were 852. The number of deaths was 195 in 2024 and 206 in 2025. Thus, the population increased from 64,034 in 2024 to 64,834 in 2025.

Zhyrgal Kadyrov attributed this phenomenon to repair work at the hospital, which lasted for six months. During this time, many local women gave birth in other cities and regions. According to him, due to mudflow events, the hospital undergoes restoration work every year, including clearing basements of water and other repairs, which forces residents to seek medical assistance in other facilities.
