This case concerns the private narcological institution "Path to Life".
At a parliamentary session, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Suyunbek Omurzakov reported on a tragic incident at the rehabilitation center "Path to Life," which had previously been mentioned in materials from the State Committee for National Security. According to him, one of the patients died as a result of abuse in this institution.
Omurzakov reminded that the facts of abuse in this center were already known to the public, and therefore he proposed to conduct an additional investigation.
The deputy also noted the need to gather data on all patients who underwent treatment in this center and to interview their families. In case the facts of abuse are confirmed, he suggested making the investigation results public.
Moreover, Omurzakov urged the competent authorities to pay attention to other similar institutions to prevent such incidents in the future.
It should be noted that the GKNB had previously reported cases of abuse of patients at the "Path to Life" center, where relatives of patients were charged up to 80,000 soms per month for the services provided. As a result of this incident, a criminal case was initiated, and the institution's activities were suspended.
