On February 3, the mayor of the city, Nursultan Tajibaev, conducted an inspection of the bridge in the company of representatives from various services to assess its current condition, as reported by the municipality.
According to information from the mayor's office, this bridge was built by local residents in the 1960s using the ashar method. Despite the danger it poses, residents continue to use it.
“The bridge was built by local residents, and it is not on our records. We plan to transfer it to the road service and, if funding is available from the republican budget, construct a new bridge. As the water level rises, so does the risk. Currently, the emergency services are monitoring the situation,” the mayor commented on the situation.
According to the mayor's office, the population of Gulcho is projected to be 23,601 by 2026.
