At the largest international forum, Kyrgyz collectible coins and banknotes were highly praised by experts.
From January 26 to February 1, the World Money Fair 2026 took place in Berlin, where the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic (NBKR) presented a diverse exhibition. More than 30 unique banknotes and coins were displayed as part of this event. Participation in such a significant event, which gathered over 300 participants from 50 countries, demonstrates Kyrgyzstan's commitment to promoting its cultural heritage on the international numismatic stage.
The main focus of the NBKR at the exhibition was on popularizing the historical and cultural heritage of the country through the lens of the national currency. Series such as "The Era of the Kyrgyz Khaganate" and "World Nomad Games" showcased not only artistic craftsmanship but also technological innovations. According to the bank, the exhibition attracted the attention of both private collectors and leading experts from global mints.
Various categories of banknotes and collectible coins were presented at the exhibition, including:
“Historical Events”;
“The Era of the Kyrgyz Khaganate”;
“Monuments of History and Architecture of Kyrgyzstan”;
“Kyrgyz Customs and Rituals”;
“National Musical Instruments”;
“National Sports and Folk Games”;
“World Nomad Games”;
“Red Book of Kyrgyzstan”.
In total, more than thirty different exhibits reflecting the uniqueness of the national currency were presented at the exhibition.
Participation in the World Money Fair is an important tool of "soft power" for central banks. By showcasing coins from the series "Red Book of Kyrgyzstan" and "National Musical Instruments," the NBKR successfully emphasizes the value of the national currency as a work of art and a historical document. The professional community noted the uniqueness of the presented lots, which contributes to increasing the investment attractiveness of Kyrgyz numismatic products on a global level.
