At a meeting between the delegation of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and representatives of the Port of Karachi, an agreement was reached to create specialized warehouse facilities for handling export and import cargo, as reported by Podrobno.uz.

The parties also discussed the allocation of land plots and areas for the installation of Uzbek logistics terminals, which will allow local carriers to independently control the process of accumulating and distributing goods in the port, avoiding the services of external operators.

Particular attention was given to creating favorable conditions for transit and providing incentives for investors interested in developing port infrastructure.

It was recently confirmed at a high level that a large-scale transport route through Uzbekistan and Afghanistan will be implemented. This became known during negotiations between the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif.

The multimodal corridor project, which will connect Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, will provide connectivity for the CIS countries with the deep-water ports of Gwadar and Karachi. Uzbekistan will become an important transit hub in this project, ensuring access for the states of the region to the Indian Ocean.
