The construction of the southern bypass road in Bishkek has caused unrest among the residents of the village of Kok-Zhar. This was reported by the deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, Dastan Bekeshev, on his Telegram channel.

According to Bekeshev, local residents expressed their concerns that the road might pass through their homes and agricultural lands.

“I held a meeting with representatives of the akimat, investors, architecture experts, and employees of the Ministry of Transport to clarify all the details,” the deputy added.

It is worth noting that the city hall previously reported that work on the southern bypass road project would begin only after the approval of Bishkek's general plan is completed. The road is planned to start from the western side near the car market and will pass through the villages of Kun-Tuu, Baytik, Zarechnoye, Besh-Kungey, the state farm "Ala-Too," and Novopokrovka.
