In the Issyk-Kul region, in the city of Cholpon-Ata, the construction of a bypass road has begun. This information was provided by the local mayor's office.
According to the authorities, the project is being implemented as part of the preparations for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit and the VI World Nomad Games, which will take place from August 31 to September 1 of this year.
The bypass road will have four lanes and a total length of 15.64 km. The construction work is being financed from the state budget using the method of parallel design.
"It is expected that the facility will be completed by the start of the World Nomad Games and the SCO summit. The use of the new road will be free of charge," the official press release states.
The project aims to reduce traffic load, improve road infrastructure, and prepare for international events. The work is being carried out according to the established schedule.
