The State Committee for National Security (SCNS) reported the discovery of a corruption scheme related to the illegal enrollment of students in driving schools. Currently, operational measures are being taken to identify all participants in this scheme and to revoke driver's licenses obtained through fraud.

In November 2025, Kanibek Tumanbaev, the head of the President's Office of Kyrgyzstan, announced that private driving schools would be transferred to state control. Training for obtaining a category B driver's license will last 10 months, while for category C it will last 12 months.

On January 29, the President signed a decree suspending the activities of private driving schools.

As of February 10, enrollment in state driving schools has begun.
