In the Batken region, in the Kadamjay district, there is a small village called Chogorok, located in the rural district of Ak-Turpak.

Although the village is small, its name and historical significance attract the attention of local researchers.

Experts assert that Chogorok represents one of the small clans of the Sary Teyit tribe, which is mentioned in various historical sources.

According to the accounts of the locals, Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur described the Chogorok clan among the nomadic tribes of the late 15th century in his famous work "Baburnama."

Babur noted that there was a tribe called "chograk" in the Andijan region, consisting of five to six thousand households, which inhabited the mountains between Kashgar and the Fergana Valley, raising not bulls, but kutas (yaks).

Some sources also report that in the early 13th century, the Chogorok clan was part of the army of the Khwarezmshahs and moved to the regions of Afghanistan and Pakistan during the Mongol invasions.

The etymology of the name "Chogorok" has two interpretations. According to one version, it is related to the terms "chagyr/chakyr" (warrior) and "nökör" (guard of the khan's court). Local residents also believe that the name may be a compound of the words "chogor" (golden eagle) and "ok" (people), indicating the ancient Kyrgyz's closeness to the culture of hunting with golden eagles. In this context, "Chogorok" can be interpreted as "clan of the golden eagle" or "people of the golden eagle."

Today, Chogorok is located on the banks of the Khozhoshken River and has more than 40 households, with residents primarily engaged in agriculture and livestock breeding.
