Representatives of the authorities and public figures attended the event to pay tribute to the fallen soldiers and express gratitude to the living veterans. Among the participants were Gulmira Kyshtobaeva, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Chui region, Arnal Asanov, First Deputy Akim of the Alamidin district, Asanaly Zaripov, Chairman of the Veterans Council, and Abdymanap Sopieev, Chairman of the District Council of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan.
The participants of the meeting discussed the events of the decade-long war that began in 1979 and noted the heroism of the soldiers who showed courage in the most difficult conditions. Special attention was paid to the importance of preserving historical memory for future generations. Currently, there are 70 veterans living in the Alamidin district who participated in the Afghan war.
The meeting concluded with a moment of silence in memory of those who did not return from the war.
