Kyrgyzstan participated in the discussion of the regional platform concept for 'green schools'
Deputy Minister of Education of Kyrgyzstan Nadira Jusupbekova participated in a recent meeting that brought together representatives from environmental and educational agencies in Central Asia. This event took place in Astana and served as a precursor to the upcoming regional environmental summit.

During the meeting, the concept of a regional platform for "green schools" was discussed, which is to be approved at a high-level round table on the topic of "Children, Youth, and Climate." Participants also addressed issues related to creating educational systems that are resilient to climate change in the face of growing environmental challenges faced by the region.

Jusupbekova presented the current state and reforms being implemented in Kyrgyzstan in the field of greening education. She noted that work is being carried out in several directions: resource conservation, enhancing the safety and resilience of school infrastructure to climate change, and integrating environmental topics into curricula.

According to her, approximately 120 climate-resilient schools are currently operating in Kyrgyzstan, projects to improve energy efficiency are being implemented, building codes are being updated, and standards for "green schools" are being developed.
