In Bishkek, the repair of streets that were not completed in 2025 will continue in 2026. This was reported on the air of "Birinchi Radio" by Abdyzhaparkul Janbolotov, deputy director of the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure.

He noted that the work is planned on the southern side of Deng Xiaoping Avenue, as well as on Lev Tolstoy Street from Termechikova to Timur Frunze and on the section of Bakayev Street from Lev Tolstoy to Bokonbaev.

“Social media claims that this section has been under repair for four years, however, work on the breakthrough of Bakayev Street only started in November 2024. We planned to complete the project last year, but faced difficulties related to the relocation of two gas lines. Gazprom has its own procedures, so coordinating the project with Moscow takes time. There were also challenges with drainage, so we had to build a sewer system,” the official explained.

Abdyzhaparkul Janbolotov added that the project faces other difficulties as well.

“In 2022, some sections were transferred to private ownership, and there are nuances to this. We are conducting explanatory work. Many believe that this section will yield no results, but it will continue — we are connecting it to Beyshenalieva Street. This year we will continue the road breakthrough and begin construction of a bridge over Ala-Archa leading to Beyshenalieva Street. With the warming, we will soon start laying asphalt,” he added.

Let us remind you that in 2026, the construction and reconstruction of 119 kilometers of roads and bridges is planned in Bishkek. Of these, 19 kilometers will be new roads, while 100 kilometers will be the reconstruction of existing facilities.
