“Once again, departmental conflicts, mask shows in front of everyone, humiliation”
Cholpon Jakupova, a well-known human rights activist, shared her feelings about the recent detentions of law enforcement officers through social media.
“The country is once again witnessing public 'special operations' for detaining representatives of the law enforcement agencies. The reaction of society is mixed: some rejoice (you used to humiliate us, now it’s your turn), others watch with interest, while a third group tiredly remarks: ‘Let them tear each other apart, they deserve it.’ Everyone has the right to their own opinion…
Personally, I feel bitterness and deep concern. We are witnessing departmental squabbles, mask shows on camera, and deliberate humiliation over and over again. Is it really impossible to break this endless cycle?! A cold calculation is needed to demonstrate that you are not as lawless as they are, that you know the law and respect your own dignity.
It’s enough already to play war games: departmental, regional, national! We are already experiencing a lot of anxiety, tired of living in anticipation of a ‘grand upheaval.’
I hope that law enforcement officers and officials understand the value of peace and stability better than many,” Jakupova concluded.
