On February 19, servicemen of the Leilek Border Detachment stopped an attempt to illegally export small livestock across the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, reports the press service of the State Border Service.

As specified by the agency, the operation was conducted jointly with the State National Security Committee based on received operational information. As a result, an attempt to export livestock bypassing the established checkpoints was prevented.

During the patrol, a Volkswagen Crafter cargo vehicle was spotted heading towards the state border. The driver, ignoring the demands to stop, attempted to flee.

During the pursuit, the driver of another vehicle, a SsangYong Rexton Sports, obstructed the border guards, acting in collusion with the truck driver to facilitate his breakthrough to the border strip.

Thanks to the coordinated actions of the servicemen, both vehicles were blocked and detained in the settlement of Dostuk.

Upon inspection of the Volkswagen Crafter, it was found to be transporting 36 sheep without the necessary veterinary and accompanying documents. The preliminary value of the detained livestock is estimated at approximately 1 million soms.

As part of the investigation, three citizens of Kyrgyzstan from the Batken region were detained, suspected of organizing and facilitating the illegal movement: G.S.K. (born in 1984), T.R.U. (born in 1983), and N.K.K. (born in 1984).

The materials of the case regarding the illegal movement of goods have been forwarded to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
