The state institution "Kyzmat" has announced the launch of a new digital service that allows citizens of Kyrgyzstan to apply for the exchange of the civil passport of the 2020 model through the mobile application "Tunduk".
The service is available in the standard manner, and the processing time for the passport is 18 working days.
Applications can be submitted for several reasons:
expiration of the passport or at the citizen's request;
changes in personal data;
damage to the document;
loss of the passport.
When submitting an application, users can change the transliteration of their surname, first name, and patronymic into Latin letters.
According to paragraph 9 of the Regulation on the civil passport of the 2025 model, approved by the Cabinet's resolution dated August 20, 2025, No. 508, the patronymic is indicated at the citizen's discretion. The applicant decides whether to include it or not. However, in the ID card, if a patronymic is present, it must be indicated.
The service offers modern digital features. When applying for the exchange of an ID card or foreign passport, users can:
upload a photo from their mobile device;
take a picture directly in the app;
upload a photograph taken at the TSN using a unique barcode (photography at the TSN is free).
The photo requirements comply with international ICAO standards: the face should have a neutral expression, the gaze directed straight at the lens, and a slight smile is allowed. The photo should be taken without headgear, except for a scarf that does not cover the oval of the face. The photo must be in color, on a white background, sized 35×45 mm, and taken no later than six months before the application submission.
When taking a photo in glasses, the frame should not cover the eyes, and the lenses should not create glare. For individuals with vision impairments, glasses with tinted lenses are allowed. Clothing should be casual or business-like.
To submit an application, a valid electronic cloud signature is required, which can be verified in the personal account of the "Tunduk" app.
If there are any questions, citizens can contact the call center at 119 (the call is free).
