What is the deadline for replacing documents?
Citizens are provided with a transitional period from January 15 to February 15, during which they can exchange old licenses for free. Those who do not manage or are unable to replace their licenses within the specified period will have the opportunity to do so later, but for a fee.
After the transitional period ends, the old licenses will cease to be valid and will be subject to mandatory replacement.
According to information from the State Center for Vehicle Registration and Driver Licensing under the Presidential Administration, the population will be informed about the deadlines and further stages of the transition.

Why is it necessary to update licenses?
The update is necessary because the old licenses do not have digital formats, are not recognized in some foreign countries, lack sufficient security measures, and contain outdated photographs. This complicates identity verification and creates risks of abuse.
The new driver's licenses comply with international standards, have improved security features, and provide a higher level of safety.
To facilitate the process of replacing indefinite licenses, the government has introduced several simplifying measures:
- there is no need to provide a medical certificate in form 083;
- the replacement can be processed through the "Tündük" system online;
- the procedure for obtaining the service has been optimized, allowing the process to be completed without unnecessary haste and additional costs.

How to obtain a new license?
Citizens whose licenses are in the "Tündük" system are recommended to apply for a replacement online without the need to visit branches.
To do this, you need to go to the "Services" section, select "Road Transport and Driving," and then "Application for Replacement of Driver's License." After that, you need to specify the address for receiving documents and undergo photo identification.
Residents of the Chui region are advised to choose the nearest branches in Bishkek when applying through the "Tündük" mobile application: Vostochniy, Alamedin, or Tash-Dobon.
Citizens whose licenses are not digitized and are not in the "Tündük" system should contact the relevant branches for document replacement.

The exact number of issued indefinite licenses is unknown, but some citizens have already undergone the replacement procedure.

How long to wait for new documents?
The processing time for a new driver's license is up to four working days from the moment the application is submitted. The applicant can track the status of their application through the "personal account" in the "Tündük" mobile application.
To check the status (in case of rejection), you need to go to the "Submit Application" section, where the current status and reason for rejection will be displayed. In case of rejection, the applicant can reapply, uploading a new photo if necessary.
