Traffic on the Bishkek-Osh highway will be restricted due to snow melting.

From February 24 to 28, temporary restrictions on vehicle movement will be introduced on eight sections of the Bishkek—Osh highway. This is related to the forced snow removal operations.

The information was provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Jalal-Abad region.

It is reported that the restrictions will be implemented in areas with a high avalanche threat.

“Snow removal operations are taking place on the section of the Bishkek—Osh highway from the 198th to the 255th kilometer, which is located within the Jalal-Abad region. To carry out these operations, a special artillery unit of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the hydrometeorological service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the road patrol service, and the ambulance service have been involved. During this period, the road will be periodically closed,” the agency reported.

In addition, the Ministry of Emergency Situations warns of the possibility of avalanches in the mountainous areas of Kyrgyzstan on the following routes: Bishkek—Osh, Myrzake—Kara-Kulja—Alayku, Ala-Buka—Kanysh-Kiya, Krasnaya Gorka—Ak-Tash, Sary-Tash—Darooot-Korgon—Karamyk, Bishkek—Naryn—Torugart, Aral—Min-Kush, Aral—Suusamyr, Balakchy—Kazaraman—Jalal-Abad, Karakol—Enilchek.
