Guns Against Avalanches: 130,000 Cubic Meters Released on the Bishkek - Osh Route
Important measures to prevent avalanches have been taken by the artillery units of the Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan. They conducted a planned march to areas prone to avalanche danger and began work on the forced release of snow masses on key routes, including the Bishkek - Osh highway.

The military deployed their equipment and weapons on the slopes of the mountains, carrying out targeted fire at snow cornices. This action allows for the early release of accumulated snow masses, which in turn reduces the likelihood of blockages on important transport routes in the country.

According to the department, over 130,000 cubic meters of snow have already been released, and by April of this year, the volume is planned to be increased to more than one million cubic meters.

These activities are carried out in cooperation with specialists from the avalanche service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, who regularly conduct comprehensive actions for the controlled descent of avalanches on the main mountain sections of roads during the winter period.
