In Kyrgyzstan, the construction of refrigerated warehouses for storing products is being initiated

At the forum "AgroDialogue-2026" held last week, the Minister of Agriculture Bakyt Torobaev presented the idea of creating refrigerated warehouses for storing fruits and vegetables, according to information from the Ministry of Agriculture's press service.

As the minister noted, this project will help solve the problem of crop losses that farmers face due to a lack of modern storage facilities after the harvest. This will create conditions for maintaining the quality of products, as well as expand opportunities for processing and exporting them.

“We are ready to provide full support to farmers, agribusinessmen, and processors in building modern warehouses with refrigeration chambers. The construction of such facilities, compliant with international standards, is a strategically important step for increasing the efficiency of the agro-industrial complex and strengthening the food security of the country,” emphasized Bakyt Torobaev.

This proposal aims at comprehensive support for agricultural producers and agribusiness, as well as the development of infrastructure for storing and processing products, which will create new jobs and enhance Kyrgyzstan's competitiveness in both regional and international markets.

The ministry intends to implement the program within the framework of public-private partnerships together with investors. It involves full support for projects, from design to construction, operation, and certification according to storage standards. In addition, the agency will provide consultations on effective management of agricultural product inventories and logistics chains, which will help increase farmers' incomes and reduce losses.
