
"There is an amazing generation of athletes in France"
Talantbek Dushabaev, a native of Kyrgyzstan, has become the new head coach of the French national handball team, as reported by several sources.
He noted: "It is a great honor for me to work with the French team. This is exactly what I dreamed of, as France has an amazing generation of athletes. My task with this team is to return to victories and restore dominance, especially over countries like Germany and Denmark."
Talantbek is an Olympic champion of 1992, a world champion of 1993, and a medalist of European championships and the Olympic Games. He has also won the Champions League both as a player and a coach. He began his professional handball career at the "Burevestnik" club in Frunze.
In 2023, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the European Handball Federation (EHF).
